Where to Live in San Antonio, Texas

Before you relocate to San Antonio, Texas, it is important that you find the right place for yourself. The best way to do so is to visit the city a couple of times prior to your move. However, we at Long Distance USA Movers understand that that is easier said than done. For that reason, we have put together this short list of some of the best neighborhoods in San Antonio, Texas:

- Alamo Heights. This neighborhood might not be cheap (an average home costs around half a million dollars), but it has a lot to offer. It is only ten minutes away from downtown, yet it is far enough to ensure you don’t have to put up with the noise from clubs all night long. It is mainly populated by well to do families. It is also home to a great school district.

- Stone Oak. One of the most pleasant suburban areas of San Antonio, Stone Oak is much more affordable than Alamo Heights. An average home here costs around $350,000. It is one of the fastest growing areas of the city. It is home to the Northeast School District. A number of strip malls, beauty salons, bars, and restaurants are located here.

- King William. Also known as Southtown, this neighborhood is home mainly to young professionals and their families. This area is, however, even more expensive than Alamo Heights – an average house here sells for $650,000. There are several private schools and public schools in the area.

- Mahncke Park. Generally considered quite affordable, with some houses selling for as low as $200,000, this neighborhood is on its way up. It is mainly home to young professionals and young families with children. The area’s vicinity to downtown makes it very attractive. This is one of the most family-friendly neighborhoods in the city.

- Helotes. If you are moving to San Antonio, but are not a big fan of the hustle and bustle of a big city, this is the place for you. Helotes really looks more like a village than a part of the city. While property prices here are twice as high as the city’s average, rarely does a house come without a few acres of land.

Have you found the perfect place for yourself?
